Part of making sure that everything we do in our in-house assessment has long term impact is by giving you a Pono Home Eco-Kit. This is currently in development, but so far, it includes:
Magnets
We teach you the most efficient way to use your appliances (refrigerator, washer/dryer, dishwasher, etc.). For the appliances that you might forget the conservation habits for, we’ve created these “point of use” magnets and will put them on your washer/dryer and dishwasher.
Coupons
The Pono Home Coupon Card will give you great discounts on local green merchants. It encourages you to continue your sustainability and health journey. Click on the image to learn more.
Conservation Tools
Tire gauge
When we work at your house, we’ll show you how to find the right tire pressure, and then check your tires to make sure you’re not driving around on underinflated tires. Then we give you a tire pressure gauge.
Sink plunger
Next time you get a clog, you’ll reach for this handy and sustainable option, rather than going out and buying caustic toxic chemicals to pour down your drain. It works for 90% of slow and clogged drains in your sink, so try this first, maybe combined with a natural, homemade drain cleaner, WAY BEFORE doing anything crazy like, well, supporting giant chemical manufacturing companies with your hard earned money.
Reusable, portable silverware set
It’s silverware plus reusable napkin in one neat set. It fits well into purses, backpacks, messenger bags, etc., and helps you reduce waste by avoiding single use plastic forks, spoons, etc., as well as single-use paper napkins.
Green Living Ideas, a Graphically Illustrated Book on Conservation
Besides what we’ll do at your house, this book covers just about everything else you need to know to make your home more pono. It’s got a lot of pictures, diagrams, and descriptions of everything from cooking habits to how to spot GMO ingredients to how to drive more fuel-efficiently.
Scott Cooney’s second book, Green Living Ideas, is currently in development!
