Chelsea Harder


Chelsea Harder has 15 years experience implementing energy, environmental, and social programs for sustainability. As CEO of Pono Home, Inc., Chelsea brings her background in engineering, network facilitation, community development, and education. Before joining the team, Chelsea served as the Sustainability Dashboard Coordinator for Hawaiʻi Green Growth Local2030 Hub leading implementation and progress tracking on the statewide and global sustainability goals and previously served as the market transformation specialist at Hawai‘i Energy managing projects and fellowship programs to help achieve Hawai‘i’s goal of 100% clean energy by 2045. Chelsea holds a master’s degree in Natural Resources & Leadership for Sustainability at University of Vermont, a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from University of Minnesota. Her international experience includes serving as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Republic of Kiribati implementing programs to improve quality of life and resilience to climate change in island communities and studying abroad in Advanced Environmental Measurements Techniques (AEMT) program at Chalmers University in Gothenburg, Sweden. She is a Senior Fellow through the Environmental Leadership Program (ELP) National cohort. Chelsea is an avid swimmer, hiker, and runner and loves to travel. She is from northern Minnesota and has lived in Hawai‘i for over a decade.
