For a limited time, Pono Home, in partnership with Hawaii Energy, is providing FREE energy and water efficiency upgrades potentially worth several thousand dollars to qualified renters and homeowners! Typically, a family of four may save a few hundred dollars a year on utilities after this program. And really...there is no catch - everyone is paying into a fund called the Public Benefit Fund and that fund pays for this program...so in essence, you have been paying into this for as long as you've had an electric bill with HECO, MECO, or HELCO, so might as well recoup your rewards! The PBF also funds the rebates you may have seen on Energy Star appliances, and many more clean energy initiatives in the state.

  • Please note, our funding for this program primarily comes from Hawaii Energy, which does not service Kauai island. Occasionally, we get some funding from County of Kauai and KIUC to do this kind of work, but currently do not have any programs running on Kauai.
